We've had the Play Sports PDX idea for a while but finally got the motivation to bring it to life when researching travel softball teams in the Cedar Mill area for our daughter.  Currently, the only way to gather information about softball is via Facebook pages which is not efficient for a busy, working mom.  After spending hours combing through Facebook posts and chatting with other moms online we realized there had to be a better way.  We all know our kids need coaches to grow in sports but where is the coach for us parents as we navigate how to get them in and help them play youth sports?  So we decided we could do something about it by creating a space where information about all local sports could come together.  We have a vision to provide information and links to all local recreational and club/travel teams in the area as well as post when registrations and tryouts are happening.  We would love to expand to offer links to resources youth athletes need like the right gear and equipment, wellness resources like doctors and PT along with links to private coaching and training facilities.  This website is a personal passion and a labor of love and we are hoping it can become a community resource so that all kids never miss a season of sports because their parents couldn't find the information to sign up. I'm a one woman show building this website in my not so "free" time so if you see an error or something is incorrect shoot me an email (playsportspdx@gmail.com) and I'm happy to fix, update or edit your club's info.  And if you ever have any free time and want to work on this with me, let me know!!
